Our ALS course and ARC ALS2: which certificate do you need?

Both concern advanced resuscitation skills. The certificate and provider requirements are different.

What Respond Life Support offers

Our own Advanced Life Support course follows current ANZCOR guidelines and is designed to teach advanced life support to ALS2 level. It combines online preparation with an on-site practical day. Passing the assessments leads to our certificate of competency.

This is not an Australian Resuscitation Council course. It does not issue an ARC ALS2 certificate, and we do not claim ARC course-centre accreditation. [CPD accreditation pending]

What ARC ALS2 means

ARC ALS2 is the Council's specified course, delivered through approved course centres under its course regulations. If your employer or credentialing committee requires ARC ALS2 by name, use an approved centre.

Ask before you book

  • Does the policy name ARC ALS2, or accept an ANZCOR-aligned ALS competency certificate?
  • What training and certificate currency does your role require?
  • Will your CPD home accept the activity, and in which category?
  • Do you need a nationally recognised training unit or another named credential?

Send the course outline to the person approving your training. Guideline alignment and similar learning topics do not make certificates interchangeable.
